I believe businesses have heart — and a great brand makes it visible.

I'm Tiffany Mackney — brand specialist, creative visionary, and strategic partner for women founders building toward more — who are ready to build a brand that truly reflects who they are and connects them to the people they're meant to serve.

My Story

I didn't arrive here in a straight line — and I think that's exactly why I'm good at this work.

My career began in graphic design, working across both corporate and small business environments. I got to see firsthand how brands were built and scaled at every level. But it was in small business where something shifted for me. The work was more hands on, more exciting, and more meaningful. Small businesses have something a corporation simply can't replicate — the ability to truly connect with their customers. Not just sell to them. Connect with them. Build community around them. That difference changed everything for me.

Then I got laid off. Twice. From companies that made those decisions without a second thought about the people behind them. And somewhere in that experience I realized I was done building someone else's vision. It was time to build my own.

In 2018 I launched HMGRL x Co. — a mission-inspired clothing brand built around one simple belief: homegirls support homegirls. I designed everything from the ground up — slogans like "from city to city we rise" and "women with vision" — and watched it grow a real, loyal following over three years. I saw firsthand how a brand could influence women to support one another. How it could bring positive change just by standing for something.

And then it went under.

I've thought a lot about why. And the honest answer is this — I built it on visuals and instinct alone. There were no brand values to guide decisions, no positioning strategy, no financial foundation. The heart was there. The strategy wasn't.

That failure became my greatest teacher.

I picked up a book called The Soul of Branding by Jerome Conlon and it changed everything. I became obsessed with the inner workings of a brand — not just how it looks but what it stands for, who it serves, and how it creates lasting connection. While working at Whole Foods I studied how a brand like theirs operated with clear guidelines and systems across every department. I started developing those same frameworks for small businesses.

Over the last four to five years I've been refining that work into what it is today — The Brand Growth System. A strategic, intentional approach to building brands that are grounded, scalable, and designed to evolve.

Why I Work with Women Founders

I work specifically with women founders because I am a woman — and I understand intimately what it means to build a business while navigating everything life asks of us. The branding process is deeply personal. So much of what gets shared comes from story, background, and passion. Women bring all of that into their businesses and I believe that deserves to be honored, not minimized.

I also want to be part of the change. Women still don't receive equal pay. We carry lifestyle responsibilities that require flexibility — as mothers, as caregivers, as women navigating our own health journeys. I live this myself. I have always needed flexibility — for my own health, for travel, for a life that feels aligned. That's why I work remotely, set my own schedule, and build marketing strategies with my clients that work around their real lives — not against them.

I believe flexible, sustainable, and aligned are not just nice ideas. They are necessities.

My Approach

Every engagement I take on is built around four core beliefs:

01 Clarity Before Everything

A brand cannot connect if it isn't first clearly understood — by you and by the people you're meant to serve. Before strategy, before design, before anything else, we get clear.

02 Authenticity as Strategy

Your authentic expression is not a soft idea — it's a business asset. Brands built on who you truly are, are more sustainable, more magnetic, and more resilient than anything built on trends.

03 Built for Connection, Not Just Expression

A brand cannot connect if it isn't first clearly understood — by you and by the people you're meant to serve. Before strategy, before design, before anything else, we get clear.

04 Brands Built to Evolve

A brand is not a fixed thing — it's a living framework that should grow alongside its founder. The women I work with are not starting over. They are stepping up. And the brands we build together are designed to move with them — across new seasons, new offers, and new opportunities.

Evolution is a natural progression grounded in a strong foundation, guided by clarity, and always in service of where you're headed next.

A little more about me.

When I'm not working on brands I'm exploring mountains, capturing wild landscapes through photography, or seeking out the next place that inspires me. I'm passionate about wellness and mindful living — and I'm navigating my own health journey that has deepened my understanding of what it means to build a life and business that truly supports you.

I am especially drawn to working with founders in the wellness, travel, and creative industries — where vision, authenticity, and meaningful connection are at the heart of everything.
